Managing Director - FIG Insurance
Description
Purpose
• To identify opportunities and prospective clients that can be developed in order to strengthen the franchise. Work with Global Account Owners, ensuring strategic and business objectives are achieved in a timely fashion.
• To establish a holistic understanding of clients’ needs and deliver innovative high value solutions across all product lines, gaining significant business and sustainable returns for the Group.
• Lead and manage client coverage teams in three geographies across North America, delivering and executing the Global Banking and Insurance strategies.
Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain ‘trusted advisor’ relationship and access at key decision maker level for assigned current and target clients.
• Work closely with the sector and country team leaders on developing client plans and coverage strategies in assigned portfolios.
• Represent HSBC North America to global clients and HSBC offices around the world.
• Work to reposition the firm to higher value added solicitation, enhancing the perception of the Bank among its existing and prospective clients.
• Lead and co-ordinate origination and execution of activities across the spectrum of HSBC products and services across the region.
• Build the Global Banking franchise value/reputation in the market place.
• Manage the development of the Global/Regional/Team business strategy as required; drive achievement against targets for revenue generation, product alignment, customer satisfaction and cost management.
• Create and lead a professional, proactive, and performance-driven culture; plan ahead for succession and continuity of skills, and participate in coaching schemes as appropriate; become a recognized role model for juniors in the team.
• Build coverage teams across North America.
• Establish and maintain networks for cooperation with other HSBC businesses to support the creation of solutions to customer needs that span geographical/product boundaries and regulatory environments.
• Drive the implementation of major change initiatives within Global Banking.
• Aggressively grow HSBC’s share of the client wallet, involving product specialists to ensure product capabilities are in line with client/sector requirements.
• Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business.
• Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
• Undertake all required activities as directed by line manager or as agreed in annual objectives in support of the furtherment of the Global Banking business.
Qualifications
Skills/Experience Required
• Track record of building and developing relationships at the key decision-maker level.
• Ability to develop a strategic dialogue with the client.
• Proven record of leading and motivating teams.
• Understanding of HSBC Group and products, and a strong network of contacts across all business areas in North America.
• Proven record of proactively originating and executing business across both flow and event products.
