To achieve success at HighMark, the Portfolio Analyst must be able to utilize their creative thinking capabilities, knowledge of the financial and capital markets along with their ability to analyze detailed and complex investment data to build, develop and present customized analysis and conclusions to Portfolio Managers, HCA management and other key professionals. Each Portfolio Analyst is responsible for their area of focus including equity, fixed income, mutual funds, and cash flow planning.
Major Responsibilities:
55% Investment Related: Work with Portfolio Managers and HCA management to identify and evaluate scenarios, solutions, and assist in the implementation and monitoring of clients' investment strategies. Work with Portfolio Managers to identify and evaluate investment solutions and assist them with performance attribution and risk-return, style, holdings, and exposure analysis. Support the non-portfolio management service requirements of key clients and internal partners. Develop, distribute and present general internal and external client communication pieces.
35% Special Projects: Project management skills including the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with a large volume of investment data and tight deadlines. Must be able to establish priorities, goals, and measure progress. Provide high level analytics and thought leadership to the senior managers of HCA. Capable of pursuing multiple goals and projects simultaneously, while fostering a cooperative, collaborative, and positive work environment. Ability to understand complex issues, provide solutions, and recognize the potential impact to the organization
10% Risk Management: Responsibility for all fiduciary and SEC compliance requirements. Actively ensure compliance with the Bank's and HighMark's Code of Ethics. Participate in any required corporate and business line training in these areas.
Qualifications
• Must have a Bachelors degree with 3 to 5 years of investment industry experience. An MBA/CFA/CFP preferred.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and producing high quality work, while maintaining focus on significant issues without getting bogged down is important.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to effectively package and communicate information at the senior executive level.
• Strong system skills are required with solid understanding of Microsoft Office.
