The incumbent will analyze fixed income securities related to commercial real estate which will include CMBS, REITs, and Commercial RE CDOs. The analyst will be expected to analyze securities across the credit spectrum and will work with Credit Strategists, Traders and Portfolio Managers to evaluate and recommend appropriate credits. He/she will employ fundamental techniques using traditional loan level analysis as well as cash flow modeling. He/she will work with the surveillance analyst to monitor markets and holdings to assess sell/hold decisions. The incumbent will document ideas for presentation to investment professionals. He/she will identify and monitor significant macroeconomic themes within commercial real estate and discuss these themes with credit and portfolio management groups. There will be credit related and other research projects as required and/or necessary.
Qualifications
BA/BS degree. 4+ years of commercial real estate investment experience or relevant business experience. MBA and/or CFA (or progress toward) preferred. Direct knowledge of commercial real estate underwriting and valuation, lending or other related field. Familiarity with the CMBS and REIT markets. Strong computer skills - knowledge of MS Access, Excel, Intex, Trepp and Bloomberg. Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to present ideas and findings to investment staff and clients.
