As part of the research team, the Senior Research Analyst is expected to lead the quantitative research effort designed to extend the firm's capabilities in generating alpha from equity and fixed income markets. The position requires complete understanding of how various parts of the organization (mostly portfolio management, trading and client servicing) work together to achieve business objectives. The position requires very strong analytical and quantitative skills to identify effective and innovative solutions to solving a wide array of research problems. The position requires a deep understanding of economic/financial theory and of the investment process and production environment. The position affects the business directly by providing support for the existing investment strategies as well as contributing to improvements of the strategies. The position requires that the candidate has good communication skills in order to share her/his research results internally with peers, both verbally and in written form. The position also requires that the candidate interacts and works effectively with the research and the portfolio management teams. Eventually, the position may lead to interaction with clients whereby the candidate will be asked to present / discuss / explain various research projects.
Qualifications
Graduate Degree required, preferred concentration in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Engineering preferred. 3-5 years experience required, 5+ years preferred. Matlab required and VBA, SQL is preferred.
