Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets.
Background on the Position
The Operations Support Director reports directly to the Executive Director (ED) of the National New Accounts (NNA) Run the Bank Support Team. The person in this role is responsible for NNA reporting and analysis, process improvement efforts, financial management and project management. The Operations Support Director is an independent contributor with possible management responsibilities and works with three other Operations Support staff in support of the National New Accounts organization.
Primary Responsibilities
The Operations Support Director oversees the development and maintenance of ongoing management reporting for the New Account and Account Surveillance and Fraud functions. Specific responsibilities include:
-Develop and implement performance management tools that measure site, department, function and individual performance.
-Ensure that all reports, analysis and forecasts are based on accurate, consistent data and assumptions are clearly documented.
-Work with systems groups to automate ongoing reporting and provides ad hoc reporting and analysis to managers as needed.
-Work closely with operational areas to identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
-Provide cost benefit analysis on potential opportunities and track and provide reporting on the status of all initiatives.
-Develop and maintain integrated expense/budget analysis and projections, identify data trends and create forecasting models appropriate for both production level supervisors and senior level management.
-Provide divisional Chief of Staff and NNA ED budgeting and forecasting analysis including research and explanation of variances.
-Assist with the rollout of the unit costing methodology across division areas to achieve greater cost transparency and understand impact of business volumes to Operations cost base.
Qualifications
Skills required (essential)
-4+ years experience in Financial Services or Technology/Project Management
-Strong PC Skills: Microsoft Office : Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio
-Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, analytical mind, task oriented, strong work ethic
-Ability to work well in a team environment
Skill desired
-Previous Management Experience
-BA or BS in Business Management or Information Systems/Technology
-Experience in software development, testing and/or implementation, VBA, SQL a plus
-Experience in new account opening process or operations support
