Credit Review is an independent key control function with high importance in the regulatory environment. Credit Review is set up globally with main locations in London, Tokyo and New York. The team consists of credit professionals with broad and diverse sets of skills and experiences. Credit Review offers the opportunity to gain experience in manifold credit areas.
The position is within the Credit Review NY team with focus on MUFG’s US Wholesale and Investment Banking operations including the following portfolios: Corporates, Financial Institutions, Leveraged and Structured Finance, Securitization and Project Finance.
Job Summary:
Individual at this level is expected to use some independence of thought but to refer more complex problems to supervisors or other experts. Individual would be expected to contribute to work flow or process change and redesign, and to form a strong basic understanding of the specific product or process.
• Participate in asset quality loan reviews assessing individual exposures, assess credit ratings, consistent application of rating systems, regulatory classification, portfolio quality, quality of credit risk management, and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Complete various administrative tasks in the department’s credit process and credit risk management.
• Perform related duties and participate in special assignments and projects as directed.
• Opportunities to participate in other Credit Review areas (i.e. International business areas) thus potentially covering other business areas and / or projects.
Qualifications
• Graduate, at least undergraduate degree in a business related field.
• Approximately 3 years or more experience either from a banking industry, rating agencies or public accounting firms or some combination thereof.
• Experience dealing with U.S. corporate credits; credit trained preferred.
• Good time management skills; ability to meet firm deadlines; flexibility to deal with various responsibilities.
• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, as well as interpersonal skills.
• Willing to travel.
