Description
Zurich is currently looking for a Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist to work out of our Maitland, FL or Atlanta, GA office. The Specialist, with moderate direction could handle any of the following jurisdictions: Florida, Georgia, Alabama or North and South Carolina Workers' Compensation Claims of moderate exposure and complexity. This position will resolve claims according to Best Practices and within authority limits by following established protocols to ensure that claims are handled in the most efficient, effective way while delivering a customer-centric claims service. They will regularly communicate with customers and brokers and may be dedicated to handle claims for specific accounts.
Client Externally Focused - The job’s core deliverables rely on delivering service to external clients and/or customers. Typically involves building relationships and promoting the company.
Basic Qualifications
• Juris Doctor and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims and Litigation area within the Insurance industry
OR
• Bachelors Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims and Litigation area
OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Claims and Litigation area within the Insurance industry
OR
• Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims Handling area within the Insurance industry
AND
• Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s)
• Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment
• Knowledge of claims handling or insurance legal statutes and procedures
• Customer service experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Florida workers compensation claims handling experience strongly preferred
• AIC, SCLA and/or CPCU designation
• Strong communications, analytical, negotiation and customer service skills
• Advanced data gathering and problem solving skills
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to a changing environment
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to effectively present information to LOB manager, claimants and customers
• Microsoft Office experience
