Job Description
POSITION OBJECTIVES
The Payments and Receivables Technical Analyst is responsible for providing decision making, guidance, leadership and technical support in the development, design and performance of all payments and receivables platforms associated with Cash Management. Systems included are Finastra's PAYplus Connect/GFX, Fiserv's PEP+, Fiserv SMS ARP/Positive Pay, bank Escrow system, Bottomline Business Online Banking, Bottomline Digital Banking, bank Remittance System and IGTPlus SWIFT. These systems are outsourced or run in an ASP manner and interface with the bank's Fiserv Signature Core. This position ensures that desired results are achieved that impact functionality and the customer experience delivering products that are aligned to corporate goals and objectives. The Payments and Receivables Technical Analyst will act as liaison between Cash Management, business user groups, internal departments and vendors in order to ensure strong relationships and influence outcomes to reach the best solution. Additionally the Payments and Receivables Technical Analyst is responsible for implementing new applications or solutions as needed and approved, plus ensure that all Regulatory updates and changes are properly applied.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Executes Application updates during annual and interim application releases. Examples include, but are not limited to: conducting design and build test cases, UAT testing; advising vendor of problems; retesting; reviewing presented material; implementing system changes/fixes/patches and scheduling meetings with vendor and operations/business staff through the project and post-implementation to minimize risk if problems arise.
• Maintains the settings and parameters for supported payments, receivables and remittance applications. Examples include, but are not limited to: implementing system updates; implementing new releases and new applications; reviewing and implementing system changes based on regulatory updates; setting and configuring new product and service parameters.
• Executes and completes tasks to support payments, receivables and remittance applications during acquisitions/conversions. Examples include, but are not limited to: working with the Applications Support Group, various departments, acquired bank staff, and vendors to complete mapping, testing and other conversion related tasks.
• Ensures the development, design, delivery and performance of all payments and receivables platforms within the Cash Management department. Examples include, but are not limited to: strategic planning for system enhancements, recommendations on new product initiatives that fulfill functionality gaps, keeping current on vendor roadmaps and deployment schedules, monitor and report on performance metrics, work with cross-functional departments on interfaces to build seamless integrations.
• Ensures that payments, receivables and remittance application processes are effective and efficient. Examples include, but are not limited to: reviewing workflows; assessing the improvement area; making recommendations to improve efficiency.
• Assists with payments, receivables and remittance applications training. Examples include, but are not limited to: working with training department to develop training materials; and assist with training of business staff end users on applications.
Requirements
• Minimum 8+ years in payments, receivables, remittance or Escrow services arena with experience in both high and low-value payments (wires, ACH and checks)
• Knowledge of FedLine and other Funds Transfer systems; preferably Finastra's PAYplus Connect with interfaces to Host systems, online banking systems and Caller/Fax services.
• Experience with an ACH processing platform, preferably PEP+ or other comparable application.
• Experience with ARP/Positive Pay platform, preferable SMS or other comparable application
• Experience with bank escrow system
• Comfortable with technology that supports payments and receivables processing, experience with system upgrades, new implementations, file processing and handling, file formats, system application configurations and working with vendors and internal IT staff.
• Ability to document and communicate system differences, explain differences to business lines, relate differences to customer experience and challenge vendors
• Extensive knowledge of banking regulations and compliance pertaining to domestic and international payments, including OFAC, BSA and new Dodd-Frank Remittance Rules now under Regulation E.
• Ability to develop procedures for new processes or changes to existing ones
• Ability to work well in a fast paced, small team environment
• Must be able to work independently, multi-task and prioritize effectively
• Highly organized and detail-oriented; strong judgment and problem-solving skills
• Strategically focused and execution driven* Ability to represent department in both a professional and friendly manner * Strong oral and written communication skills as well as strong analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• BA / BS or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification or other payments related certification would be a plus
• Prior experience with acquisitions / conversions
