Overview:
This position is a Middle Office Analyst (Operations) role supporting the US residential real estate strategies for Man Global Private Markets. This candidate will support Portfolio and Asset Management activities and will be responsible for auditing and approving cash management for asset purchases and loan administration, communicating payment status and responding to inquiries from the front office. Possessing excellent communication and administrative skills, the Analyst will be responsible for a significant portion of the day to day operations support.
Duties:
-Assisting in the direction and administration of operations and processes for debt and equity positions backed by real estate assets
-Check and process all cash management and payment processing activities for front office activities
-Responsible for the account setup and reconciliation of transactions across multiple business lines
-Reviews and conducts first-level approval of bank reconciliations on a monthly basis
-Preparation of Daily Cash Balancing Reports ensuring that all data for postings and journal entries are accurate and report is sent timely to appropriate management
-Participate in the due diligence and KYC process for counter parties and service providers
-Responsible for service provider relationship for fund administration arrangements
-Responsible for internal fund accounting procedures
-Assist in the preparation of financial statements and investor reports
-Performing initial underwriting on new borrowers and/or assets, communicating results to management
-Actively monitor risk by identifying trends and potential issues with operational controls
-Verifying document inventory for newly acquired assets to ensure ownership
-Monitor compliance of lending counterparties with all facility covenants and requirements
-Review of loan servicing reports to ensure full principal amount is returned and that loan tracking system is updated to reflect paid off loans
-Ad hoc research and financial analysis to support new business opportunities
-Evaluates and ensures accuracy of the entries generated from the daily reconciliation process
-Taking a proactive and innovative approach to enhancing processes and
maintaining internal policies and procedures manuals
-Track deal terms and conditions for existing and prospective fund investments
-Work with members of other strategies as needed to provide support
Qualifications:
-Undergraduate/Graduate Degree with a preferred major in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other relevant coursework and a strong overall academic performance
-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
-1+ year(s) experience in investment banking/capital markets or 2+ years in a credit underwriting, operations, or accounting role
Desired Qualifications:
-Outstanding financial modeling and analytical skills
-Understanding of US GAAP and tax
-Some experience with financial calculations including P&L and complex attribution analytics
-Residential real estate investment experience is strongly preferred
