Purpose of Position:
De Lage Landen is seeking a New Business Development Manager, Technology Solutions
Our Office Technology, Global Business Unit, supports the customer financing needs of some of the largest technology equipment manufacturers and software providers in the world. From servers to storage, tablets to phones and even robots, we empower our partners sales channel to sell more by offering flexible, customized financial solutions
The individual selected will identify, solicit and close new national and regional financing program relationships with manufacturers and resellers of technology equipment and software.
Responsible for leading and developing new partner/vendor business opportunities on a regional level. Partner/vendor is as a rule is a manufacturer, distributor or large sized regional player with a fairly complex decision making structure and complex market characteristics. Program agreements are complex by nature and need integration and balancing of different functional disciplines of DLL.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities:
• Further develop a target list of prospects within the technology market that can provide predictable and sustainable new business volume
• Utilize proactive prospecting strategies and tactics such as cold calling, email and social media to gain an audience with senior level influencers and decision makers to 1) perform a needs assessment and 2) align DLL's capabilities to support the identified needs.
• Manage the sales process from prospect identification to program agreement negotiation and execution
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to manage program implementation
Additional Roles and Responsibilities:
• Contribute to development/formulation of global new business development plans (annual and long-term) and business plan.
• Initiate and formulate plans (annual and long-term) including budget for own region in line with global new business development plans and business plan.
• Implement approved plans and budget for own region.
• Scope and identify new market opportunities (product, geography, channel, partner/vendors, extension of programs).
• Prioritize and target opportunities.
• Negotiate with partner/vendor on cooperation outline e.g. volumes, products/services, tender process to end users/dealers of partner/vendor, support systems, administration/invoicing processes, branding, marketing, risk management, etc.
• Establish pricing for agreement
• Coordinate contracting / signing agreement
• Submit partner/vendor Credit Application (business plan and case, program agreement and financials) to Credit Committee
• Coordinate application process
Qualified Candidates Will Have:
• Bachelor Degree
• 10+ years of successful vendor finance experience in a proactive/hunter sales role or 10+ years in technology channel development experience working for a leading technology/software manufacturer
• Solid insight and experience developing mutually beneficial, strategic alliances
• Experience in managing long, complicated sales processes and negotiating operating/program agreements
• Must have a strong presentation skills with an ability to sell complex concepts in a simplified and compelling manner.
• Two working days per year volunteering for a local charity
