Department Profile
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.
Corporate Treasury provides corporate finance advisory services to senior management and the business units, maintaining the firm's liquidity, optimizing its capital base, coordinating its relationships with rating agencies, lenders and creditors, managing the firm's foreign exchange and interest rate exposure, and accessing multi-currency financing.
The Liquidity Planning and Coverage Team (LP&C) within Corporate Treasury is responsible for:
• Recommending the Firm's liquidity policy and framework
• Managing the Firm's overall liquidity profile
• Providing analysis relating to various liquidity metrics
• Implementing, reviewing and communicating regulatory liquidity requirements
• Coordinating with global Business Units on liquidity related matters
In order to effectively deliver on the mandate, LP&C has an ongoing portfolio of Change-the-Bank (CTB) projects to enhance the quality and timeliness of liquidity information to various consumers. LP&C also has a significant Run-the-Bank obligation to sustain.
The role requires managing various Liquidity initiatives which support the Firm's Liquidity Management strategy. This individual will be required to perform in-depth current-state business analysis of existing processes and help develop and document the solutions necessary to enhance liquidity risk management and reporting capabilities.
In addition, the role will require the facilitation of meetings with a broad set of stakeholders to help ensure approval, understanding and adoption of new or enhanced methodologies.
This role will require working very closely with the Liquidity Funding Controllers (LFC) team as well as Treasury Technology and the Business Unit SME's to ensure that appropriate solutions are developed and deployed within specified timeframes.
Qualifications
Skills/Experience Required:
• Bachelor's degree in a Finance, Accounting, or Information Technology-related field
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Strong Excel/Access skills
• Experience with project planning and project management
• The ability to manage multiple high-priority deliverables in a deadline-driven environment
Skills/Experience Preferred:
• Experience within a Corporate Treasury or Liquidity Management Function
