Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Risk and Control Governance and Oversight under the Head of Central Risk and Control Office (CRCO) and within the Chief Corporate Administrator’s Office (CCAO), the Vice President (VP) of CRCO Transformation will provide program and project management services for the build out of the CRCO function that will include changes in processes and systems. This role will be responsible for managing, directing, planning, developing and implementing complex projects or initiatives to accomplish goals and business objectives. The candidate should have deep project management experience and a strong understanding of core accounting and finance processes.
Major Responsibilities:
• Supports leadership with project management of the projects within the CRCO target operating model, which consists of multiple cross-functional projects in support of strategic business initiatives and regulatory requirements, including, but not necessarily limited to:
◦ Projects with the three lines of defense to align governance, risk and compliance (GRC) business processes, policies, and systems on behalf of CRCO.
• Manages multiple projects as needed, including project plan development, coordination of project deliverables, testing, and implementation.
• Support the Director of Risk and Control Governance and Oversight in assessing and reporting on the execution
• Responsible for coordinating and running status meetings
• Monitors project budgets and financials and proactively identifies budget risks
• Assist in managing the resolution of complex business or project issues, management communication, and tracking.
• Plays an active role in the implementation and/or administration of project governance requirements.
• Provide feedback for process improvement, lessons learned, program enhancements, and strategic alignment with business or other programs.
• Develop and deliver management and project-related presentations as needed
• Support the Director of Risk and Control Governance and Oversight in project portfolio governance as needed and development of best-in-class tools and reporting for effective and transparent project governance Requirements
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of experience concentrated in project management for Financial Services companies
• Experience managing projects within risk and/or controls related functions and knowledge of banking organization, operations and technology a plus
• Experience managing large projects from start to finish using project management methodologies (Scrum, Agile, etc.):
• Process improvement assessments / implementation experience
• Highly organized with strong MS Office skills, in particular MS Project and ability to run effective Web based meetings
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate well with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong presentation skills (verbal and written) and ability to present to large groups and to Executive Management
• Ability to lead meetings and facilitate resolution of differing views and under challenging circumstances
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet established deadlines
• Turnaround, tight timeline, and/or crisis environments
• MBA, CPA, and/or PMP certification a plus
• Big 4 or top tier management consulting experience a plus
