Position Goals:
Responsible for leading and managing all organization-wide data governance activities with a focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework

Data Governance Analyst
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate the implementation of a roadmap for the Data Governance program, including data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise.
2. Administer data governance activities and ensure collaboration from data stewards, data owners and business and functional area subject matter experts.
3. Create and implement, in partnership with data governance leaders, data governance materials that include policies, training materials, data quality reporting and compliance reporting.
4. Manage data governance implementation projects and provide status updates to the Data Governance Committee.
5. Produce and maintain data governance documentation.
6. Mature data documentation standards and content within the business and functional areas.
7. Establish a data workflow and communication program with the data stewards to ensure critical issues are communicated timely for remediation and document remediation decisions.
8. Collaborate with the data stewards and data owners to enlist business unit support to take ownership and responsibility for consistent definitions and quality of their data and ensure that documentation maintained.
9. Ensure that data-related business requirements, including data controls, data quality and the protection of sensitive data, are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning within the business and functional areas.
10. Develop and enforce methods and validation mechanisms for ensuring data is being properly managed and that data quality standards as well as legal, regulatory and security requirements are consistently being met.
11. Create and coordinate data cleansing initiatives for the purpose of purging and eliminating corrupt or redundant information from corporate databases.
12. Serve as a liaison between business and functional areas and the Data Governance Committee.

Requirements
Position Requirements:
Education - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Finance or related field of study.
Experience - Over five (5) years of experience in data governance, data analysis or business analysis with large-scale data, project management, risk or related oversight experience

Preferred Requirements:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business or related field of study
Three (3) or more years of experience managing people.
Enterprise Data Management experience specifically in the areas of Data Quality, data stewardship and Governance.
Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets.
Experience in Finance, Credit, Risk or Operations related data projects, specifically around transformation (current state assessment, future state recommendation and development of a roadmap including data quality and governance).
Experience in Banking or Financial Services industry.
