Role Value Proposition:
The Global Customer Solutions (GCS) group provides a consistent service experience for all MetLife customers. In addition to driving an omni-channel customer service experience and transforming our call centers and Digital servicing channels globally.
Global Customer Solutions provides outstanding Sales and Customer Service support for key insurance and protection products within the Americas business, and drives call center transformation and digital servicing channels globally.
Working closely with Global GCS leadership this position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and following-up on corrective and proactive action plans within the global organizations of GSC with a focus on IT Risk, Audit Findings and insurance rules and laws. Responsible for gaining legal/compliance approval for GCS supervisory policy and procedures. Additional responsibilities will include managing specific projects within the group and managing assigned risk associates.
Key Responsibilities:
• Reporting to the AVP Business Risk, works independently, manages specific functions responsible for overseeing and assessing business controls processes for GCS Global locations. Manages, coaches, and develops personnel involved in developing, implementing, and following up on corrective and proactive actions plans for functions within GCS or operational business processes.
• Drives action planning for specific GCS initiatives and ensures the execution of these initiatives takes place. Project manages specific projects undertaken by the group. Translates senior management vision and assists with developing the department’s vision, strategy, service levels, and business objectives. Communicates and implements vision and strategy with affected staff. Communicates results and analysis to management and key internal/external stakeholders.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with Audit, Privacy, IT Risk, Corporate Compliance, Corporate Legal, and external parties. Is the primary contact with product specific legal counsel to assess and interpret the implementation of new or changed laws and regulations within GCS.
• Consults with Compliance and Audit as to scheduling, documentation requests, and implementation of process changes. Evaluates and implements process improvements to mitigate risk and ensure compliance. Reviews and provides recommendations regarding the effectiveness of management action plans. Monitors management action plan implementation to verify action plans are implemented properly and timely.
• Identifies, locates and provides needed training and resources. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• 10-15 years of Risk Management, Audit, Compliance or related experience.
• Complete knowledge of audit & compliance principals and associated company policies and governmental regulations.
• Analytical, strong computer skills, leadership skills, project management skills, ability to coach and mentor, makes sound business decisions, presentation skills and communication skills.
• Ability to interact and negotiate with Officer level business partners, legal and compliance partners.
Preferred:
• Master degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• 15+ years of Risk Management, Audit, Compliance or related experience.
• Proficient in other languages.
