Treasury Management (TM) Services is dedicated to engaging our Wholesale, Specialty and Retail Business Banking Clients and offering solutions through a suite of deposit, digital, mobile and paper based products and services. These capabilities create efficiencies, controls, visibility and returns for the clients and enhance relationships and create mutual returns.
Position Overview:
As a member of the TM Services Product Management team, the Deposit and Pricing Product Leader is accountable for the overall financial performance and management of the Commercial Deposit and Pricing products and the successful execution of the Wholesale Deposit Strategy. Of primary focus is development and executing of this deposit and pricing strategy in the midst of a dynamic rising rate environment.
The Deposit and Pricing Product Leader has responsibility for overseeing strategy formation, product development for Commercial deposits and overseeing pricing coordination. He/she will engage executive leadership and sales teams across the organization with emphasis on strategy, training, communication and influencing to ensure deposit goals are achieved.
This role is responsible for reviewing market research, analysis of competitive and market forces, ongoing critical assessment of internal opportunities/challenges, management of existing products, and development of new products. The position is closely tied and fully aware of our Corporate Treasury funding needs in partnership with Bank Treasurer and CFO and also tied to market and LOB opportunities to grow share and revenues. The position requires strong analytical skills, working knowledge of economics and short-term fixed income markets, collaborative work style and ability to interface with both executives and peers across the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership to the deposit and a pricing team overseeing all aspects of Commercial Deposits and TM/Card pricing. This includes directly supervising staff, coaching, mentoring, teaching and conducting performance reviews.
• Develop and execute product strategy (rates, products, marketing, sales) that mitigates attrition, optimizes cost and drives growth for deposits in support of business strategy, funding plan, and key bank metrics.
• Support execution of TM/Card pricing coordination including development of pricing analytics, pricing policy maintenance/execution, trend analysis, etc.
• Present proactively to LOB partners on deposit strategy and guidelines; present the view on bank funding, deposit rates, market rates, and deposit-related financial performance metrics.
• Maintain and develop the existing product lines. He/She is responsible for both long and short term product planning (product reviews, modeling, product and service pricing, forecasting and business case projections).
• Understand industry participants, broader competitive environment, and new/existing products offered by the industry.
• Oversee development and maintenance of competitive analysis data related to product, pricing and sales strategies; including, development of feedback loop with sales partners to obtain additional competitive insights.
• Manage repricing project for all TM products and services, including tracking revenue realization.
• Initiate and collaborate with Operations, Technology services, Finance, Compliance, Marketing, Corporate Treasury and Sales management to ensure product growth meets bank objectives through competitive and marketable products as well as effective pricing and promotion strategies.
• Partner and collaborate with Finance, Corporate Treasury and Sales management to review deposit growth/attrition, rates, competitive environment, and execution of deposit strategy.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Economics. Masters of Business Administration, preferred
• 8+ years of progressively responsible product management experience preferred (including 5+ years specifically related to commercial deposits)
• Proven track record of developing and driving product initiatives from start to finish
• Strong analytics, strategic thinking and working knowledge of deposits are required.
• Proven ability to interact and influence executive management, as well as excellent presentation abilities
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility with functional and regional leaders
• Self-starter, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities
