Position Overview
ClearBridge Investments is seeking an Equity Research Analyst to join their New York based fundamental research team as an Internet and Media sector specialist. Our research process focuses on using bottom-up fundamental analysis to identify and take advantage of mispriced securities. This requires due diligence on industry and company specific trends, analysis of company reported financials, as well as extensive modeling and valuation work.
Key Responsibilities & Duties Include, but not Limited to
• Conduct due diligence across Internet and Media Sectors
• Lead meetings with company management
• Dissect and project company financials; perform valuation analysis
• Synthesize data to generate new investment ideas and/or recommend investment action
• Communicate key findings and recommendations to PM teams to help drive firm alpha
• Evaluate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities
Ideal Qualifications and Experience
• 3-7 years of investment industry experience as a fundamental research analyst
• Experience analyzing Internet and/or Media companies
• Competency in dissecting and valuing both hyper-growth and mature business models
• Ability to evaluate investment opportunities in a timely fashion and effectively communicate conclusions
• Exceptional analytical skills and rigorous financial statement analysis
• Ability to collaborate as well as work independently
• Buyside experience
• Bachelor’s degree; MBA, CFA a plus
