The Credit Investigations Coordinator will facilitate and coordinate the assembly of consumer loan applications from our branch and indirect application referral sources for distribution to the department's underwriters.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Coordinate workflow of consumer loan applications. Ensure loans are properly inputted into the Harland and TSYS systems by credit investigation clerks. When required on loan applications, assign or perform necessary OFAC checks as well as job and home verifications. Perform various system maintenance functions on the Harland system, such as setting up or revising information for new Branches/Dealers.
• Review credit disputes for Consumer, Mortgage and Credit Card loans on the E-Oscar online program. Prepare to articulate both written and verbally how consumer's accounts were handled and reason for handling. Perform accurate due diligence with the heightened focus on consumer protection by the CFPB and other regulatory agencies.
• Monitor and supervise the department's clerks to ensure that they are completing their assigned work accurately and timely. Develop, mentor and train the staff backups for various department required credit investigation functions.
• Communicate with the various Credit Reporting agencies on the complicated credit disputes and discrepancies.
• Provide support to department management with daily, weekly, and monthly system reports.
• Prepare written responses to consumer loan applicant's credit disputes and utilize the functionality of the Bank's enterprise wide complaint log.
• Support management in various record keeping. Assist management during internal and external audits.
Required Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate PC skills including email, general understanding of databases, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Knowledge of regulations pertaining to credit.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to organize priorities and delegate assignments. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Required Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of five years related credit investigation experience working with consumer loans.
