Intern Job Summary
The Mr. Cooper 12 week long Summer Internship Program provides real-world, professional work experience and the opportunity to be a valued contributor! From day one you’ll be working side-by-side with your mentor and manger on project-based work that enables you to apply the knowledge and skills you are learning through college courses. Intern Duties and Responsibilities
The Corporate Communications intern will undergo a full spectrum internal communication experience. Candidates should have strong writing skills and solid project management abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel, will be essential. Experience with content management systems and social-channels is highly desirable. Areas of learning include the following:
• Effectively and efficiently communicating with team members
• Building internal communication plans, utilizing multiple distribution channels
• Internal social networking content development and strategies
• Launching internal team member initiatives and programs
• Coordination and promotion of team member events
The Corporate Communication Intern will be responsible for the following deliverables.
• Internal social networking content creation, posting and monitoring
• Intranet updates and content publishing
• Internal communications planning and content creation
What will you gain?
Internal Communications Experience - Exposure to team member communications through all stages of execution, using multiple channels, including intranet, emails, newsletters, video and more. Hands-on Experience – The intern will be one piece of a two-person internal team, allowing for hands-on experience from day one. The intern will have the opportunity to work directly with business partners on their initiatives, owning communications from start to finish. Multi-Channel Experience - Mr. Cooper is at the forefront of team member communications, offering leadership videos, newsletters, a social channel and more, but we are constantly evolving and changing. The intern will have the opportunity to share and execute new ideas to engage and communicate with our more than 7,000 team members.
The Corporate Communications Intern will perform at the heart of a dynamic, fast-moving, result-oriented communications team offering practical learning opportunities. The internship will hone skills focused on internal communications while offering exposure to other key communication areas, including media relations, social media, brand building and issues management. Most important, the Corporate Communications Intern will be a key member on a small team with the ability to work on meaningful and company impacting projects.
Intern Qualifications & Ability
• A high school diploma or state accepted equivalency is required.
• Currently a junior or senior in college with an expected graduation date in 2018 - 2020
• Must be 18 years of age
• Ability to execute multiple tasks and projects concurrently to meet deadlines
• Demonstration of leadership and working within a group or team environment a plus
• Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
