What is the opportunity?
As the Director of Capital Planning and Documentation, you will offer primary support for drafting, editing, finalization, and governance of the annual Capital Plan. You will be responsible for supporting the execution of the firm’s CCAR submission and coordinating across the various CCAR-stakeholders/work streams to understand key program priorities, drive consistency in methodologies/approaches, and review documentation of capital stress testing processes. You will also prepare materials summarizing capital planning processes and results for senior management and the Board of Directors.
What will you do?
• Support the Head of Capital Plan and Documentation, partnering with appropriate subject matter experts, on the delivery of all core elements of the annual capital plan including:
• Complete Narrative
• Capital Plan/Policy/Adequacy Process/Actions
• Risk Identification
• BHC Scenario design process
• Assumptions/Limitations/Weaknesses
• Governance framework
• Summary of Audit findings
• Prepare summary materials for the Board of Directors and senior management committees related to the capital plan results, processes, and governance
• Provide tailored analyses for senior management (partnering with risk, finance and treasury) on capital planning including calibration of actions, stress test summaries, and peer bank comparisons where appropriate
• Assist in the design and implementation of the CCAR reporting governance structure and related controls to oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements
• Credible review and challenge of work stream methodologies and results
• Collaborate in ‘macro’ / strategic initiatives including risk identification, scenario design, limitations & weaknesses, etc.
What do you need to succeed?
Basic Qualifications
• Writing and analytical capabilities commensurate with independent production of management-ready documentation work products
• Manage team of 1-2 individuals; developing talent and promoting RBC culture
• Minimum 7 years relevant or related work experience
• Acts as a transferor of knowledge at the strategic and tactical level through the identification, analysis and provision or proactive advice to Senior Management, Business Leaders, and Functional Leads
• Demonstrates proven impact and influence skills to engage both business and cross-functional team members
• Fosters an environment based upon responsibility and accountability to drive execution
• Skilled in setting and articulating strategic priorities
• Must be operationally savvy, action-oriented who continually strives for improvement
Other Required Qualifications:
Technical
• Broad understanding of Capital Markets, Retail Banking, and Wealth Management
• Familiarity with operational and support environment issues
• Familiarity with compliance and regulatory environment in which the platform operates
• Financial analysis skills and experience
