What is the opportunity?
This role will develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy covering all partnership groups of the U.S. Change and Execution Management team. This includes engaging with other regional businesses (U.S. Capital Markets, U.S. Wealth Management, City National Bank, RBC Bank, Global Asset Management and Enterprise), providing subject matter expertise and thought leadership. This role will also design and implement a multifaceted communication and training plan, inclusive of communication standards, designed to engage stakeholders at all levels within RBC ranging from junior staff through and including Board members, in addition to external Regulators.
What will you do?
• Lead the creation and execution of strategic internal and external communication plans for groups supported by the U.S. Change and Execution Management function
• Identify and pursue key outlets and resources to best drive tailored messages to stakeholders and staff
• Establish communication standards, tools, and templates
• Serve as a key interface with Regulators and provide management of the various annual exams
• Provide detailed, tailored messages to Senior Management and the various Boards at RBC
• Develop and deliver targeted training in support of the U.S. Change and Execution Management function mandate through identifying key issues, skills and regulatory reform that impacts the population. This includes partnering with RBC’s Learning and Development team and potentially external vendors
• Design, coordinate and implement all key program-wide communications such as, not limited to monthly/quarterly newsletters, production-cycle kick-offs, program onsites/offsites
• Establishes close partnership with all teams with the U.S. Change and Management function to support the overall function mandate
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
• Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience at a financial services/professional services firm
• Extensive experiences in developing and driving strategic communication plans aimed at enhancing engagement and the overall client experience
• In depth understanding of top-tier U.S. finance and business relations
• Strong understanding of and interest in global capital markets
• Strong writing and interpersonal skills
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and on multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong leadership and ability to manage junior staff
• Ability to develop relationships with senior executives
• Resourceful and strategic, with a strong attention to detail
• Proactive and results focused
• Experience in finance and risk culture or similar, defined by short deadlines, aggressive expectations and strong leadership
• Experience with communicating with external regulators
• Collaborative team player
• Commitment to excellence and ability to meet high standards
• Strong values and cultural fit with RBC
• High level of personal integrity/ability to establish trust
