Global Investment Control directly supports Capital Group’s Investment professionals, helps implement investment decisions and facilitate the investment process. Operating from locations in North America, Europe, and Asia, core functions include order management, portfolio construction and compliance, trade support, corporate action communication and coordination, and proxy services, among others. These services support the management of equity and fixed income portfolios for retail, institutional and private clients.
As an Analyst based in Los Angeles, your primary focus will entail executing basic business analysis functions on initiatives of varying size and complexity that introduce or significantly alter capabilities, processes, or systems. You will also have core production responsibilities related to our wealth account management.
Responsibilities:
• Continually develop a working knowledge of Global Investment Control Private Client Services functions and interconnections with other team’s policies, procedures, and systems
• Participate in various sized projects concurrently in support of strategic business, regulatory, or operational objectives; confirm standard tools and processes are used during execution of projects
• Ensure business, process, and system changes support our risk and controls environment
• Define project task responsibilities including identifying risks and coordinating implementation activities to ensure adherence to overall project schedule
• Provide input and materials for research & analysis (i.e., gap analysis, impact analysis, cost benefit analysis, financial analysis, data analysis, problem analysis, system and process mapping, etc.) to support the business and project team in solving problems involving processes, products and procedures
• Conduct in-depth research and analysis to facilitate the process of defining business requirements
• Communicate regularly with a variety of audiences, including presentation of requirements and analytical findings
• Partner with more senior associates to ensure process, technology, and people processes deliver the documented business requirements prior to implementation
• Work with our Client Relationship Team to process standard and moderately complex requests including cash requests, new account set-ups, closures, gifting and implementing clients’ asset allocation strategy, transition plans and rebalancing efforts
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 3+ years professional experience in the investment management industry with project management and/or business analysis responsibilities
• Demonstrated knowledge of standard processes, tools and deliverables, process mapping, process design, and requirements gathering
• Demonstrated knowledge of investment mandates, investment vehicle structures, investment operations, competitive landscape, and reporting/regulatory environments
• Business insight as it relates to external practices, trends, technology, and information affecting various departments and business areas
• Advanced skills and deep experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.)
