Duties and Responsibilities
This position oversees all tax accounting and administration activities related to the Tax Accounting team. Directs all team activities to efficiently and effectively deliver exceptional services.
Key Functions:
• Manages time and personnel records; recommends and approves salary increases; performs and approves performance appraisals; sets goals and establishes performance standards for team; initiates and approves new hires and staff reassignments; and has ultimate responsibility for associate management and development
• Manages team and associate performance by establishing expectations, promoting quality and continuous improvement and by effectively providing performance feedback. Conducts weekly meetings with team to ensure communication and coordination
• Delegates duties and motivates/monitors team to improve quality and productivity in response to corporate needs
• Implement effective systems to measure and report results, and take prompt corrective action as required
• Manages for quality, continuous improvement, and alignment with Company values
• Participates in industry activities to understand the competition, and always be alert to product and people development
• Develop, maintain and adapt, where necessary, policies and procedures in accordance with applicable IRS rules and regulations
• Develop and maintain a strong relationship with clients and other professional firms with whom the clients conduct business
• Ensure that errors are promptly identified, researched, communicated, corrected and process or procedures are adjusted to prevent future issues
• Operate as the main point of contact for key clients, regardless of the issue and coordinate the resolution of the issue
Minimum Requirements
• 10+ years of fund accounting experience
• 5+ years of supervisory experience
• Related Undergraduate degree such as Accounting, Finance, Business Administration
Preferred Requirements
• Master's degree preferred
• Designation as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Minimum Knowledge and Skills
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills and advanced Excel skills
• Demonstrated aptitude and experience with in-house software
• Excellent managerial and teamwork skills
• Understands the industry and the changing environment while anticipating client needs
• Good relationship development skills and an aptitude for client service
• Exhibit initiative in a high performing culture and have a track record of meeting or beating deadlines
• Demonstrates excellent work habits, attendance, and attitude. Mentors and develops others
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm
