Assurant has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Supplier Relationship Manager position!
The Senior Supplier Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the supplier relationship, risk, and performance for contracts identified as complex. The Senior Supplier Manager assesses, identifies, reports, manages, and mitigates supplier risk events and performance issues in compliance with the segmentation model and Supplier Governance program established by the Supplier Management & Governance COE. The Senior Supplier Manager ensures the optimal strategy and approach is in place to execute against established category strategies and meet business ®ulatory requirements. The Supplier Manager will develop and maintain meaningful business relationships with suppliers to bring value to Assurant in deal development and project execution. The Supplier Manager will be responsible for suppliers within the assigned segmentation with an emphasis on performance, value, risk, and customer service.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Perform critical analysis and recommend suppliers to be invited into Assurant’s Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships for contracts identified as complex
• Follow the enterprise-wide Supplier Governance program processes for effective risk mitigation and/or internal escalation* Ongoing assessment of suppliers segmentation using the enterprise model and manage suppliers based on how they were segmented
• Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of Assurant and the supplier.
• Develop management framework for metrics, scorecards and service level agreements (SLAs) to provide a structured approach for collection, assessment, and communication of the complex supplier program and maintain accountability with suppliers
• Organize and lead periodic business review meetings between Assurant and suppliers’ executive team to evaluate supplier performance and risk
• Establish and implement risk and performance improvement plans for complex suppliers and track and report progress against improvement plans
• Provide oversight of value tracking resources to ensure that the engagement is in compliance with the initial contract, business case, or committed savings; Report and track supplier key performance indicators (KPIs), service level agreements (SLAs), and supplier spend data
• Participate and support category strategy review meetings within Assurant
• Manage the identification of new complex programs, pre-qualification, onboarding, invoice validation, financial performance, supplier development and collaboration initiatives, and off-boarding for complex engagements and suppliers
• Contribute to developing, maturing, and implementing the SRM framework by creating materials, templates and process improvements
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 8 years experience in complex sourcing and procurement activities
• 8 years experience in market analysis and contract negotiations
• Master level knowledge of contract terms & conditions (T&C)
• Excel modeling and PowerPoint presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field of study
• Eight years Supplier performance and relationship management
• Exposure to IT outsourcing will be an added advantage
• 8 years outsourcing benchmarking, market analyses and financial negotiations
• Demonstrated ability to function in a team and highly matrixed environment
Industry Experience: Insurance, mortgage servicing and/or banking industry processes and overall value-chain, specifically in back-office functions
Professional Certifications: CIRM or similar certification is a plus
