As the Director, Regional Relationship Management, you will be responsible for the management and direction of the National Account Regional Relationship Managers covering half the country (East), staff supervision and development, business planning, Agent/Broker relationship management, and expense management. Drives cross National Insurance (NI) strategic and operational planning and execution in conjunction with Underwriting Segments and Division management. Thinks and operates with a lens on all of GRS in addition to supporting our Business Insurance partners.
Responsibilities:
• Has supervisory responsibilities over team of 6-7 Regional Relationship Managers.
• Actively works with NI leadership in both home office and the field organization to ensure distribution support model is efficient and effective to support NI reaching our objectives.
• Working closely with underwriting management, annually oversees build of region strategic plan including, review of competitors, detailed geographic product penetration analysis and assessment of growth and profit opportunities.
• Coordinates and leads the development of agent/broker new business and renewal regional plans across all NI segments in collaboration with underwriting partners, Account Executives, and Broker Relationship Managers (BRM). Develops and measures action plans.
• Responsible for meeting National Account Distribution Divisional operating metrics and objectives, through the selection, training, motivation, retention and leadership of Regional Relationship Management Team. Develops industry leading National Account sales and distribution capabilities.
• Monitors Division results versus-plan and working collaboratively with Underwriting, adjusts messaging and focus of team to drive desired outcomes. .
• Maintains appropriate staffing levels based upon the book of business, strategy, growth plans, and the geographical area.
• Participates in industry organizations and reviews relevant publications to keep abreast of marketplace changes.
• This position can sit anywhere across the US
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years of progressively more responsible insurance sales experience with a minimum of 5 years of successful territory management or equivalent experience and proven leadership skills.
• Requires in-depth knowledge of profit and loss, company services, agency management, insurance products, marketing techniques, management and human resources.
• Demonstrates a high degree of customer focus, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Highly effective oral and written communication skills, including interviewing, training, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Understands market trends and strategic issues and clearly communicates key messages to customers and staff.
