Description
The (Stakeholder) Services Manager will have direct responsibility for Mercer’s key custodial relationships. The (Stakeholder) Services Manager oversees analyst staff and works directly with the operations team on the processing of team charter responsibilities of trading execution and reconciliation, data integrity, system administration, and client invoicing.
Responsibilities:
• Lead weekly calls with custodian and operations teams to review upcoming events (i.e. fund launches, mergers, transitions, etc.) and current ongoing items
• Conduct monthly service meetings with senior management to discuss overall service quality, persistent service issues
• Perform monthly monitoring of key custodial SLAs and KPIs
• Oversee custodial relationships for Mercer’s client base to ensure consistent service levels
• Lead remediation efforts for critical custodial issues
• Provide support for projects and initiatives as needed, including assistance preparing quarterly Board of Trustees materials
• Primary contact with client service, implementation, fund administration, legal, compliance, strategy, and portfolio management teams on BAU activities and issue resolution
• Maintain team task log and work with analysts to ensure all tasks (both daily and long term) are on track and/or completed
• Ensure that all daily data is loaded and reconciled into trading and reporting systems - work with operations analysts and technology team to resolve issues
• Complete and oversee analysts in client and product trade planning, execution, and reconciliation
• Comprehend language in investment management agreements and provide guidance to billing analysts
• System administrator for third-party trading and reporting system
Staff Oversight
• The training and development of operations analysts
• The allocation and monitoring of workflow for operations analysts
• Provide input towards formal performance evaluations
Qualifications
• A minimum of six years of experience in fund accounting and/or fund accounting oversight, with progressive increase in decision-making responsibilities (Fund Administration experience a plus)
• Thorough understanding of the concepts and derivation of the Net Asset Value calculation for a wide range of investment vehicles
• Demonstrated ability to work in an environment where adherence to procedures and controls is critical
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, clear and effective communication, both written and oral; ability to multi-task
• Proven ability to work well in a team oriented environment, while maintaining ownership over individual responsibilities
• Strong performance in a leadership role, whether leading a project, a team, or an initiative
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
• Bachelor degree in accounting, finance or related field of study preferred
