Summary:
Responsible for developing short-term and long term personal lines product strategies in accordance with line accountability to meet corporate and divisional objectives, profit and growth goals, and combined ratio targets. Collaborates with functional divisions to design, implement, and direct American Family's personal lines product strategy, portfolio planning, design, product, underwriting, and pricing development to achieve sustained profitable growth. Ensures integration of each functional division`s strategies into the overall product strategy at the corporate, regional and state levels to support the profit and growth plan. Oversees either the national Auto or Property line of business.
Responsibilities:
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
• Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
• Demonstrated experience developing insurance product strategies.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in Product Management with a focus on P&L.
• Extensive knowledge and of market research and marketplace and regulatory trends in Personal Lines coverage.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of Property and Casualty Insurance product design, pricing, and underwriting concepts.
• Demonstrated experience developing underwriting strategies and guidelines.
Travel Requirements
• Travel is required up to 10% of the time.

We are targeting someone with proven leadership experience with Auto Lines Product Development including but not limited to rating, pricing concept, product design and go to market strategies.

Job Description:
Primary Accountabilities
• Develop and review short-term and long-term product strategy through the integration of the sales, services, underwriting and pricing functions.
• Creates and recommends specific personal lines product strategies based on external industry and economic trends, and internal capabilities and business performance.
• Establishes, communicates, and implements departmental plans, objectives, and strategies. Participates as a member of the Leadership Team.
• Maintains an active awareness of American Family's business environments, corporate culture, and structure to support key decision-making.
• Manages direct reports, systems, and projects to achieve department/unit goals in accordance with Company policies and practices.
• Prepares and analyzes department/unit plans and reports.
• Provides leadership by exhibiting influence and expertise, thus affecting the results of the operating area.
• Creates an effective work environment by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, expecting teamwork, recognizing outstanding performance, and maintaining open communications.
• Develops staff through coaching, providing performance feedback, providing effective performance assessments, and establishing performance & development plans.
