The CIS Team is staffed with the best and the brightest our organization has to offer. Members of the CIS Team have defined roles that focus specifically on one of the following areas:
• Serving as the primary point of communication to develop relationships and identify the needs of our prospective, new, and existing clients
• Providing marketing expertise, including market selection, marketing submissions, and price and coverage negotiations, for both renewal and new business accounts, or
• Coordinating the internal activities and delivery of services within the business unit.
Key Contributions:
The purpose of this position is to provide marketing expertise, including market selection, marketing submissions, and price and coverage negotiations, for both renewal and new business accounts.
Job Responsibilities:
• Provides marketing expertise to new and prospective clients in the business unit. Develops an overall marketing plan and strategy for assigned accounts to ensure that marketing objectives are met.
• Markets new and renewal accounts, including negotiating price, coverage, and commissions. Obtains the most comprehensive insurance programs and products at the most competitive value available.
• Maintains awareness of the insurance marketplace and insurance company underwriting guidelines, appetites, and programs. Stays abreast of new developments in the insurance marketplace through publications, seminars, and industry organizations.
• Attends company-sponsored events, including seminars, social events, etc. in order to maintain and/or build strong relationships with company representatives.
• Serves as a resource to client-facing colleagues during the sales or renewal process.
Qualifications:
Education/Designations
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Four year college degree preferred, but not required
• Possess appropriate insurance license
• Property & Casualty designation preferred; if not designation held, ability to begin work towards designation within six (6) months
Knowledge/Experience
• Minimum of two (2) years agency or insurance company experience
• Experience in both property & casualty and life and health
• Proven ability to solicit and close new business opportunities preferred
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Organizational and time management skills required
• Ability to work in a team environment required
• Projects professional appearance and manner
• Self-starter
• High attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task
• Flexible
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to communicate effectively with producers, carriers and staff
• Ability to stand or sit at a workstation during a standard workday
• Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculator, copy machine and printer
• Ability to move about the office to access office machinery and supplies
Mental Requirements
• Ability to work and meet challenging deadlines and expectations
• Job entails meticulous attention to detail. Must perform well within frequent interruptions or distractions
• Ability to quickly adjust priorities, focus and direction as circumstances dictates.
