Introduction to the Team
We are currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to be part of our Outsourced Finance and Accounting (OFA) team. Our OFA group provides outsourced cloud-based finance and accounting services – accounts payable and bill pay; customer billing and accounts receivable management; payroll of all sizes; employee expense management; controllership and CFO services; financial and management reporting – in other words, turnkey finance and accounting capabilities. The process is slick, effective, uses true state-of-the-art ERP software with 24/7/365 real time delivery. The custom dashboards produced by what we do are without equal. This is really a wonderful approach to modern accounting for startup, emerging and high growth enterprises, and not-for-profit organizations of all sizes. OFA is a rapidly growing practice in the firm. This is a unique opportunity in our downtown Edmonds, Washington location. We’re a relatively small, highly collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional client experiences.
Responsibilities:
• In-house payroll processing and download/filing of payroll returns
• New hire setup and communications
• Coordination with client support for payroll agency correspondence matters
• Garnishment, benefit plan obligations and other required reporting to Accounts Payable
• Download of payroll transactions if processed by 3rd party
Qualifications:
• Associates Degree in Accounting or related field required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Prior bookkeeping experience required, with specific experience in a position that processes a high volume of weekly payroll transactions
• Strong technology skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook at a minimum, more applications preferred)
• Ability to work efficiently and to multi-task
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
• Extreme attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience working in a paperless environment strongly preferred
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Team player with a positive” can-do” approach
• A general and growing knowledge of firm products and services in the practice area, and a general knowledge of products and services in other practice areas
