Job Description
This job is responsible for providing overall support to the People’s United Community Foundation and Community Relations departments through the management of operational tasks, building relationships with internal and external partners, participating in grant review process, data compilation and analysis, and maintaining expense records.
• Provides guidance to nonprofit organizations on grant eligibility requirements, giving guidelines, and grant application procedures
• Builds relationships with nonprofits and evaluates eligibility and impact through calls, meetings and site visits
• Prepares reports on grant requests and compiles information and data for review and discussion during trimester grant cycles
• Maintains Grant Cycle timelines and coordinates grant review meetings
• Reviews and evaluates grant requests and provides grant recommendations to Executive Director for final review and funding consideration by the Board of Directors
• Conducts data integrity review of online grant requests to ensure compliance with Foundation policies and guidelines, and accuracy and completeness of applications and grant terms
• Compiles historical and statistical data and conducts data analysis by impact areas
• Responds to inquiries and provides data on charitable giving and community involvement for RFP’s, CRA exams, community surveys, and as needed
• Coordinates Foundation Board Meetings and Investment Committee Meetings, and prepares all relevant meeting materials for review
• Fields inquiries and requests for charitable donations and sponsorship opportunities.
• Responsible for processing charitable donation checks, maintaining community relations budget, and reconciling expense records.
Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies.
Job Requirements
• Strong verbal and written communications skills required.
• Strong proficiency in data collection, review, analysis, documentation and reporting.
• Outstanding PC skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet, databases, and other applications as needed.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
• Close attention to detail and accuracy; reliability, flexibility and follow-through
• Excellent analytical skills needed to continually improve processes and procedures, gather and analyze data and review grant requests.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external contacts at all levels of organization.
2 - 4 years of relevant experience required
College degree or equivalent work experience
Knowledge and skills utilizing Grant Management software or MicroEdge preferred
Knowledge and experience in the nonprofit field preferred, but not required.
