Summary of Responsibilities:
• The Payroll Administrator III is responsible for maintaining and processing payroll data for Santander Consumer USA and Santander Consumer International Puerto Rico LLC and multi-state employees in a fast paced, growth oriented company. This person is also responsible for time and attendance, data entry, reconciliation, and management reports as required. Also responsible for balancing payroll runs, organizing and reviewing forms associated with federal, state, and local tax payments. Other responsibilities include assisting employees with compensation and/or payroll questions. The successful candidate must be able to work under strict time constraints, and pay close attention to detail and should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the payroll processing field.
Essential Functions:
• Prepares and enters payroll data in payroll module
• Maintains payroll tax records, timesheets, and the payroll system
• Handles payroll inquiries
• Reviews data for accuracy
• Runs all accounting related pay period reports and Assist Payroll Manager with G/L reconciliation of all payroll transactions, identifying errors being recorded to the G/L.
• Acts a Liaison with third party vendors concerning Garnishment and Global Cash Card setup and inquiries from employees.
• Organizes and reviews forms associated with federal, state, and local authorities, such as W-2’s.
• Researches and prepares special reports for management
• Assists with training less experienced payroll practitioners
• Provides backup assistance to Payroll Manager and additional payroll/compensation projects
Other Functions:
• Performs other Human Resource duties as assigned
• Special projects as requested
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired; equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
• Continuing education as required to stay abreast of legal issues is required
• Five (5) to seven (7) years payroll and human resources background required
• Workday experience preferred and Kronos Time and Attendance system knowledge strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Excel and Word experience required
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
Working Conditions:
• Overtime work may be required throughout the year.
• Shifts and/or schedules may change throughout the year as dictated by management and business needs.
• Travel to multiple facilities may be required.
• May be required to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to twenty (20) pounds.
• May be required to sit and review information on a computer screen for long periods of time.
• May require repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard.
• Corporate / satellite office role.
