Section 1: Position Summary
This position will lead the accounting for the TPA Solutions business with responsibility for the monthly close process, prepare and reconcile balance sheet and income statements in compliance with accounting standards, and ensure appropriate support for audit purposes. This position will also work with management and financial planning and analysis to support reporting and analysis and will be responsible for transitional accounting and integration of recently acquired entities.
Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead monthly financial close for TPA Solutions line of business, including new acquisitions
• Prepare month-end journal entries
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate account differences
• Prepare monthly analysis of income statement and balance sheet
• Work with division personnel to ensure efficient and effective financial reporting
• Prepare and maintain narrative documentation over processes, procedures, and controls
• Ensure appropriate revenue recognition and expense recognition under U.S. GAAP and assist in researching guidance and writing memos to document positions as necessary
• Assist with implementation of standard practices across all TPA Solutions’ acquisitions
• Perform accounting research as needed and assist with documentation of conclusions
• Support external audit requirements
• Assist with special projects for management and other financial functions within the department as required

Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required, CPA preferred
• 4+ years of experience in accounting
• Public accounting background preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Independent self-starter
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work within tight timeframes
• Highly analytical and detail oriented with an aptitude for problem solving
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills required
• Prior Financial Services/Retirement industry experience a plus
• Lawson and/or Oracle general ledger experience a plus
