Position Overview
Freddie Mac's Multifamily division is responsible for providing liquidity to the secondary mortgage market for multifamily loans. The Capital Markets area of Multifamily is responsible for running the division's securitization platform, the most popular of which is the K program. Capital Markets contains three main areas: Loan Pricing, Securitization and Structuring. The Loan Pricing group works with our Production & Underwriting teams and is responsible for pricing all the loans that we purchase. The Securitization team oversees the creation of each securitization transaction and works closely with our bond investors and bankers in marketing transactions. Finally our Structuring team connects Pricing and Securitization by modeling our securitization executions and ensuring we maintain our risk adjusted returns.The Capital Markets team is looking for a Capital Markets Associate (Financial Software Developer) in the Loan Pricing Group.
Responsibilities include:
• Develop and maintain financial and operational software used for multifamily loan pricing and reporting
• Work closely with pricing staff on urgent ad-hoc reporting and operational needs
• Aggregate and analyze multifamily loan data
• Document existing and new development efforts and procedures
• Troubleshoot and coordinate resolution of production application, network and infrastructure issues
• Proactively identify and address operational deficiencies
• Communicate and coordinate operational issues with internal staff
• Work with internal partners on IT development projects
Qualifications
• Typically has 1-3 years of experience in software development
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related quantitative discipline
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access, including VBA development
• Experience with data visualization platforms for reporting including Microsoft Power BI, Tableau
• Experience with RDBMS and SQL, especially Sybase ASE and Microsoft SQL Server
Preferred Skills
• Experience in Finance/Banking industry and/or strong desire to learn real estate finance, including multifamily pricing and securitization
• Experience in scripting languages including Perl, Python
• Experience with web based application development or client-server desktop applications
• Experience in reporting and analytical software including SAS, Matlab
