Responsibilities
Reporting to Managing Director – Underwriting for Energy, successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Work closely with originators, underwriting team, compliance managers and legal counsel to execute and close new business transactions
• Support the new business effort by assisting relationship managers with client related activities
• Preparing, reviewing and analyzing the creditworthiness of prospective and existing clients for presentation and approval
• Participate in internal meetings • Train and mentor junior staff
• Build financial valuation models to evaluate projected financial results
• Evaluating financial statements, historical trends, projections, management experience, industry performance, cash flow available for debt service, capital structure and collateral analysis
• Ability to monitor portfolio accounts, including tracking reporting requirements, testing financial covenants, and preparing quarterly and annual portfolio review memos
• Reviewing loan documentation and participate in review calls with the borrower/client
• Performing various departmental functions, including financial statement spreading, risk rating, and audit preparation
• Perform special projects as defined by senior management
Qualifications
• 6+ years credit underwriting or portfolio experience in Project Finance
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Accounting, Economics, or related field required
• Highly proficient in MS Excel (including financial modeling), Word, and PowerPoint
• Confident and effective communicator (both verbal and written)
• Ability to work both individually and within a team environment
• Ability to meet deadlines, strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
• Completion of a formal credit training program a plus
