Description
Manages financial analysis to support business unit reporting and decision making needs. Works with senior management to provide financial and technical analysis of current and/or proposed product lines, pricing models and methodologies, business channels, business opportunities, and/or internal measurements and methodologies. Responsible for delivering CCAR, DFAST and PRA Stress Test production, including results reporting and documentation. Provides recommendations for improvements or changes to existing analysis and designs new tools and models to support decision making.
Impact on the Business
• Manage relationships with key customers
• Leads documentation for GBM & CMB as part of the overall CCAR documentation efforts, working closely with the Central CCAR team and across the GBM & CMB businesses
• Participate in all internal business reviews related to CCAR, DFAST, and PRA Stress Tests as well as review and challenge prep sessions to ensure appropriate level of understanding to support documentation efforts
• During non-production times (for Stress Tests), support product and segment finance leads on a project/ad hoc basis to support delivery of key business initiatives while also deepening personal business knowledge
• Engage in forecasting methodology development and drive process efficiencies applied through lessons learned for future production cycles
• Build collaborative connections with peers throughout the organization to facilitate delivery of analysis
Customers / Stakeholders
• Respond to requests and inquiries from stakeholders including but not limited to; senior management, Central CCAR, BRCM, Audit, IMR, MRG.
• Provide regular analysis and reports as well as analysis to support specific inquiries.
Leadership & Teamwork
• Create and deliver presentations of analysis, trends, metrics and results. Support presentations with supporting analysis, assumptions, calculations and conclusions.
• Consult with other departments (i.e. risk management, portfolio management, etc.) to provide data and analysis
• Partner with the Central CCAR team on all relevant matters
• Partner with Risk and RWA teams to understand in depth the stressed results from the Risk and Capital perspective.
• Partner with IMR / MRG and maintain a comprehensive suite of models.
• Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.
Operational Effectiveness & Control
• Develop methods, procedures, reports, and databases to track and maintain data for analytics.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and implement continuous improvement strategies to ensure consistent improvement.
• To implement the Group compliance policy locally by containing compliance risk in liaison with the Head of Group Compliance, Global Business Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources and training, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators.
• Complete other responsibilities, as assigned.

Management of Risk
• Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues.
• Must ensure analysis reflects appropriate contents and articulates any know risks inherent in the model
• For formal models ensure appropriate documentation and controls are maintained.
Observation of Internal Controls
• Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Qualifications
• Strong management, interpersonal relationship management, analytical, project management, presentation and verbal and written communication skills.
• Seven years proven financial analysis and/or project management experience, or equivalent. Management and consumer financial services experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, statistics, business management, related field or equivalent experience. MBA preferred.
• Knowledge of financial analysis, modeling, systems and reporting preferred.
• Strong quantitative & modelling background preferred
• Proficiency with personal computers and pertinent mainframe systems and software packages. Advanced spreadsheet and database knowledge preferred.
