To act as Investment Management’s liaison for Vanguard’s Transfer Agents (TAs) providing operational and analytical oversight to the Large Transactions Policy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manages relationships with multiple internal suppliers providing oversight and stewarding material mutual fund cash flow utilized by Investment Management. Considers multiple factors such as liquidity of assets, market conditions and historical records, providing exceptional support of Vanguard's mission to Investment Management.
• Reconciles prior day's activity to Vanguards recordkeeping systems and extended trading platforms. Influences and manages mitigation measures for appropriate insulation of fund risk and/or impact. Serves as fund emissary by stewarding decision-making and ensuring business leaders understand trade-offs from financial and risk perspectives.
• Generates, maintains and distributes daily, monthly and quarterly reports (i.e., dashboards, risk governance, investment management, transfer agent, fund limit review, etc.) and conducts analysis regularly. Gathers metrics to identify trends and make process improvement recommendations. Participates in Vanguard's Unmatchable Excellence (VUE) and Risk Governance efforts. Initiates and participates in VUE/Risk projects improvements.
• Partners with Vanguard's Transfer Agents (TAs) to identify, ensure, and enhance TA responsibilities associated with the capture, communication, tracking, and audit of mutual fund cash flow for Investment Management. Conducts regular audits of TA suppliers to ensure sustainability and encourage growth.
• Leverages knowledge of the investment objectives and trading characteristics of various investment products in order to assist with job functions. Uses investment knowledge to define, measure, assess, refine, and control existing processes and propose new ones while taking into account transfer agents knowledge.
• Delivers a high level of service to internal and external clients, including the use of professional phone techniques, responsive communication, effective probing and listening and strong negotiation skills. Communicates complex issues in a clear, articulate and concise manner, taking audience into consideration.
• Initiate, administer, and manages the application of the Fund Limit Review and Trading Impact Policy. Record keep, communicate changes, and coordinate TA accountability.
• Participates in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Minimum of two or more years of related business experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a high pressure, fast-paced, trading environment under tight deadlines with a high degree of independence.
• Proven ability to work communicate with internal and external clients on sensitive and/or complex issues.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment balancing independence.
• Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, exceptional organization skills, analytical, and problem solving abilities.
• Excellent leadership, time management, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven project management skills to handle a variety of assignments concurrently and meet reporting deadlines.
• Comprehensive working knowledge in Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge or VAST and/or VISTA preferred.
