Manage professional staff to provide timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis. Responsible for the selection, development, motivation and appraisal of personnel. Research and analyze complex financial results and issues and collaborate with management. Ensure data compliance and integrity. Identify key trends in data. Participate in annual budget process, prepare surveys and other compliance and management reporting deliverables.
Responsibilities
Manage and direct a professional staff in the development and production of internal financial reporting and analysis from complex financial systems, processes, and models to produce insightful financial and operational analysis. Make recommendations to support decision making and planning. Oversight of team performance and development.
Partner with business leaders internal and external to the organization to understand organizational needs, synergies and interdependencies. Build strong acumen individually and across the team. Effectively use written and verbal skills, as well as analytic tools, to ensure timely identification and understanding of critical performance factors and accurate financial/operational information. Develop a deep understanding of retirement plan business processes and systems. Develop expertise that is acknowledged and relied upon by the business and leadership. Provide strong partnership and support with the actuarial, billing and operational teams.
Drive and lead staff in the resolution of ambiguous issues including identifying root cause, making recommendations, deploying solutions and ensuring sustaining success. Support transformational efforts including LEAN optimization projects and automation.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
Experience: 8 years of progressively responsible experience in financial reporting, management reporting, regulatory reporting and supervisory experience, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
Professional certification preferred: CPA, CMA or MBA (or actively pursuing)
