Investment Management - Environmental, Social and Governance Vice President
Description

MSIM is focused on creating a framework to integrate environmental, social and governance factors into the investment process and deliver value across multiple dimensions. In an effort to drive this commitment to sustainable investing, management is implementing a strategy to integrate ESG standards across business processes, product development and client delivery. This cross-functional team will partner closely with investment teams, the global sales teams across both institutional and intermediary channels and marketing to plan and execute on its strategy.
Position Responsibilities
• Stay abreast of stewardship developments in ESG to provide clients with leading edge views on integrating these considerations into the investment process
• Engage with companies to communicate MSIM views on environmental, social and governance factors
• Lead efforts on reporting for PRI and other stewardship codes
• Interact with portfolio managers and analysts to communicate policies regarding proxy voting and ESG issues
• Coordinate on training to drive education and create a level of awareness across MSIM groups
• Serve as vendor relationship contact for sustainability products including ISS, Glass Lewis, MSCI, Sustainalytics and other sustainability research firms
• Engage investment teams on product innovation towards meeting client requests
• Interact with legal, portfolio mangers and analysts for prospectus updates
• Assess best practices related to ESG efforts across peer competitors and industry trends
• Assist in MSIM's proxy voting and review process
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Five to seven years’ experience in financial services, preferably with experience in an institutional setting
• ESG expertise and experience and, equally important, a passion for the subject
• Working knowledge of investment products and asset classes
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with senior business leads
• Superior, demonstrated project management skills with an ability to execute
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Graduate of a 4-year bachelor’s degree program with superior academic performance
