Description
Prudential Retirement Valuation is within the newly formed Actuarial Centers of Excellent (COE). Prudential Retirement is an industry leader in Pension Risk Transfer, Structured Settlements, Stable Value, and Full Service businesses. This is a position on the Participating Valuation & Consolidated Reporting team within Retirement Valuation. The position serves as a lead of a group of three associates with the following primary responsibilities:
• Lead GAAP valuation and reporting on VOBA and full service DAC for the Retirement business including assistance with the annual assumption reviews.
• Lead Statutory valuation and reporting on separate account contracts with guarantees (“Regulation 128” contracts).
• Lead quarterly valuation reporting for statutory supplemental and GAAP fair value disclosure.
• Provide valuation and reporting support for annual asset adequacy testing and capital requirements across Retirement products.
• Lead and collaborate with various areas’ subject matter experts to draft year-end statutory actuarial opinions and memoranda to support the appointed actuary and valuation lead.
• Work closely with corporate Valuation COE Statutory team on year-end statutory filings to NAIC and various states.
• Collaborate with associates across valuation, modeling, business actuarial, pricing and corporate teams to improve valuation reporting processes.
• Lead the team to provide insightful analytics for GAAP and Statutory valuation to serve the needs of stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with Model Steward team within Modeling COE to maintain adherence with appropriate governance, controls, and documentation policies/procedures.
• Collaborate closely with Corporate Actuarial Oversight team to assure compliance with GAAP and Statutory reporting standards and policies.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• FSA with at least 7 years of actuarial experience. Knowledge of Retirement products, asset/liability management and experience with valuation reporting are preferred.
• Managerial experience is a plus.
• Highly motivated individual with strong analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to communicate to both actuarial and non-actuarial business partners.
• Collaborative and team-oriented leadership style.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain strong relationships with business partners.
• Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint & Word.
