Description
Position Summary
This position is for a self-motivated individual with a high level of professional curiosity. The analyst will provide timely and thorough analysis and review of financial data including financial statements, forecasts, economic data, and special projects as assigned. Primary work will include monthly financial statement analysis and reporting, forecasting, regulatory capital analysis, and special projects.
A successful candidate will be able to utilize critical thinking to find, gather, & analyze data from a variety of internal and external data sources. Once analysis is complete, candidate must be able to summarize and present findings/solutions of analysis to senior level management.
Major Areas of Accountability
• Researches, collects, classifies, and analyzes financial data. Participates in the development, preparation, review, and analysis of financial reports, financial statements, forecasts, and ad hoc analysis.
• Manages multiple-step, complex projects, or several smaller less complex projects simultaneously. Recommends action or implementation plans to management.
• Works with management to identify and develop enhanced processes, procedures, and policies to respond to the requests of management as well as proactively identifies areas for improvement.
• Prepares and reviews budgets and forecasts as well as prepares analysis of actual versus planned results to provide management with feedback on achievement of goals and business trends.
• Prepares and reviews reports/submissions which are utilized in external and regulatory reporting.
• Work closely/collaborate with members of the interest rate risk, capital, liquidity, & finance teams to promote cross functional learning, data management, and process improvement.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Education Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
• In depth understanding of accounting and financial concepts
Preferred:
• Professional certification (CPA or CFA) or advanced degree
Work Experience Required:
• Four to six year related work experience or three years’ experience with advanced degree or professional certification (CFM, CMA, CPA, CFA).
• Self-motivated, organized individual with high attention to detail and the ability to quickly learn complex concepts.
• Ability to analyze, breakdown, and/or apply complex financial information and accounting rules
• Positive attitude and strong leadership skills
• Strong end-user computing skills (Microsoft Suite)
• Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to present to management.
Preferred:
• Financial services background
• Proven project management experience
• Strong data and/or systems experience
