The Risk and Control Program Management Office will leverage best practices in information management services toward reducing complexity of the data and information ecosystem, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness of the risk and control function, and enablement of business services. The Data Strategy Lead will work closely with technology and business data groups across the Regional Bank on both tactical and strategic data business and technology solutions to implement regulatory mandates, increase efficiency of risk and control functions, integrate with the enterprise level strategic data architecture and enable a less complex data environment positioned to scale for future business growth. This function will collaborate with business and technology partners for enterprise data services.
Major Responsibilities:
• Align data initiatives with the risk & control data strategy procedures and reporting to ensure appropriate level of monitoring of sales practices related risk.
• Ensure operational execution of responsibilities for the following functional areas:
◦ Support Data Governance and other Data Analytics initiatives.
◦ Facilitate regulatory compliance and data privacy needs.
◦ Gather data from across the regional bank, normalize, and create metrics and reporting to support new Sales Practices Framework and other risk and control initiatives.
◦ Support EDM and ECM Adapt and accommodate new trends such as Big Data and social media.
• Reduce complexity in data process and time to market strategies.
• Accelerate change, Boost team productivity and retain knowledge.
• Focus on cost saving strategies and execution, generate processes to sustain strategies and mitigate risk.
• Drive Data services standards strategies and procedural processes.
• Create architecture and strategy metrics for the Risk and Control function.
• Build and track success criteria.
• Measure progress and recommend improvement against roadmap.
• Continuous assessment and monitoring.
• Provide reporting and dash boarding.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree and minimum 7+ years related technology and risk experience
• A track record of success in implementation of cross organization Data initiatives
• Six Sigma certification helpful
• Has a strong background in data and big data initiatives
• Has a strong understanding of control systems and relevant technologies and how they interact with each other
• Has strong management, organizational and evaluative process skills
• Can analyze complex organizational and technical issues related to technology and identifies opportunities to improve performance and efficiency
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain productive business relationships with internal partners and external vendors
• Background in systems development
• Experience in complex business and technology environments
• Experience in ECM and Data warehouse processes and technologies
• Experience with IT infrastructure, IT application technologies, and frameworks and emerging technologies
