Vice President - Solebury - Corporate Communications
Job Description
Solebury Trout requires a Vice President with media relations expertise to join its rapidly growing life sciences corporate communications practice based in New York City. Primary responsibilities include developing communications strategies and activities to elevate the understanding and visibility for our clients amongst industry, clinical, academic/scientific, financial, and general public audiences. The candidate should have a strong background in communicating complex scientific and clinical information.
Solebury Trout partners with private and public companies across all industries, helping management teams prepare for capital raising, access investors and tackle complex investor relations and corporate communications issues. More than 60 professionals with expertise in investor relations, equity research, portfolio management, private equity, investment banking and corporate communications work at Solebury Trout. Role / Responsibilities
• Lead accounts to provide senior counsel and strategy and work with account teams to develop and execute effective communications strategies that build/reinforce our client’s brand positioning and support our clients’ business goals and objectives
• Develop and maintain relationships with the media that will result in positive visibility opportunities for clients and reinforce the Agency’s positive reputation with this key audience
• Provide ongoing guidance to clients in managing the attitudes, beliefs, and perceptions of key audiences
• Build visibility for the Agency’s clients among scientific/academic and medical KOLs and serving as a resource to colleagues regarding scientific and medical communications strategy
• Develop materials that support media relations (e.g., press releases, Talking Points, bylined articles, etc.)
• Participate in the firm’s business development initiatives by contributing to lead generation and leading new business pitches
Qualifications
• B.A./B.S. degree in communications, journalism, public relations or equivalent education and experience
• 10-12 years in public relations (agency experience a plus) or journalism
• Excellent writing skills, particularly working with scientific content
• Experience in managing teams/resources
• Superior communication, problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to lead and manage comprehensive communications strategies to support client business objectives
• Ability to build and maintain close, collaborative relationships with all levels of our organization, and our clients
• Organized, detail-oriented team player/strong work ethic

Job Profile

Required Education and Experience
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
