Minimum Requirements
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Graduate Degree is preferred.
Minimum Experience: Three (3) years of job relevant experience such as drafting, reviewing, and writing simple to moderately complex financial plans for high net-worth clients OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Knowledge of federal guidelines, rules, and standards governing the use of financial planning services.
• Knowledge of investment, personal insurance and other financial products and their applications in the financial planning process.
• Knowledge of federal income and estate tax systems as they apply to the personal financial planning process.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers.
• Strong analytical skills, and the ability to be detail oriented.
• Organizational skills, and the ability to maintain information in a logical and understandable manner.
• Ability to be politically savvy and ability to position the products and services of the financial institution.
Certification(s): Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation is required. FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or 7, 63 and 65) are preferred.
Job Description
Job Summary:
Under the direction and guidance of experienced Financial Planners, develops comprehensive and modular financial plans for high net-worth clients and their families. Recommends financial strategies, products and services which support the requirements of the financial plan and the needs of the client. May conduct and/or coordinate the financial planning activities of one or more Private Wealth management teams, driving engagement in the financial planning process and in the use of Synovus' collaborative planning platform.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develops financial plans for clients, and recommends strategies, products and services which support the long-term planning needs and goals of the client.
• Writes financial plans for clients to include preparing meeting updates, gathering information, conducting research, preparing materials such as cash flow statements, tax projections, investment planning, insurance analysis, retirement, education, and estate planning.
• Works in a team environment to manage the financial planning process from discovery through plan delivery, maintaining communication with clients and team members as needed to coordinate the process.
• Manages meetings with clients and presents comprehensive financial plans to meet client needs.
• May participate in and/or lead financial planning seminars; may provide coaching and counsel on financial planning strategies throughout the company.
• Maintains current knowledge base of trends, guidelines, rules, and standards of practice governing the use of financial products and services. Continues an on-going professional development plan designed to build experience, skills, and knowledge.
• Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
• Performs other related duties as required.
