The Strategy & Innovation Manager is instrumental in developing retail banking strategies in response to significant industry transformation. Specific topics of strategy development may include evaluation of FinTech (Financial Technology) solutions, physical branch transformation, omni-channel service delivery, digital channel adoption, generational shifts in wealth, and data-based customer analytics.

Major Responsibilities:
• Analyze market and competitive factors, uncover patterns and themes within data that impact digital retail banking
• Work closely with the head of Digital Channels to provide research and support in influencing and driving digital strategy e

• Maintain digital channels roadmap with short, medium and long term priorities
• Work across multiple business lines and functions to identify and prioritize growth opportunities that result in positive financial and organizational impacts. Identify and assess potential business acquisitions, joint ventures and partnership opportunities that lead to positive financial results.
• Understand strategies across lines of business to ensure alignment with overall MUFG Union Bank strategies.
• Conduct cost benefit analysis of defined strategies and seek executive approval for execution.
• Partner with business line leaders and other support departments to ensure that the list of prioritized projects within the line-of-business aligns with the strategic priorities the Retail Banking and Regional Bank organizations.
• Provide continual consultation with senior and executive management to identify strategic direction for continual improvement relating to emerging data trends and issues.
Qualifications
Education, Licensure, Year of Experience(and type of work experience):
• MBA (or other relevant advanced degree) from top-tier institution. 5-7 years’ work experience, preferably within retail banking.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Experience in consulting, corporate planning, or retail strategy at a leading firm, especially within a financial services context.
• Experience in digital product and program research and development
• Demonstrated problem solving, quantitative, analytical, and thought leadership skills.
• Ability to distill insights into a compelling deliverable to inform the strategic direction and roadmap.
• Track record of leadership and impact, covering both dedicated and cross-functional resources.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to effectively interact with senior executives.
• Ability to work independently and function as part of multiple concurrent teams. Strong attention to detail.
