The primary purpose is to prospect and develop new business in the Florida territory in addition to growing existing business. The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Soliciting and gaining new accounts to sell AIG Travel products. These accounts may include travel agencies, brokers, aggregators, wholesale accounts, specialty accounts, property management accounts and other travel industry sellers of travel.
Assist in the on-boarding of new accounts. This includes completing all of the required applications, tax paperwork, licensing requirements and system integration to allow the new agency to sell AIG Travel products.
Provide on-going training to new and existing accounts. As we develop new products, system enhancements and policy enhancements, the Director of Sales is responsible for keeping their accounts current and thoroughly trained to offer these enhancements.
Provide a focal point for accounts to contact. Issues may arise with accounts where they may be challenged with a process, claims, systems, etc. at AIG Travel. If the account cannot gain resolution through these specific channels, the DOS will provide insight and assist the client with resolution.
Working as part of the AIG Travel sales team, the above responsibilities are key to success; however, the DOS is also responsible for making certain that their territory and accounts are profitable. Accounts that are not profitable may need additional focus. Working with AIG Travel Underwriting, the DOS will review alternative plans to bring the account to profitability. This may include a product adjustment, commission adjustment or alternative plans. The DOS will be the intermediary in working with underwriting and the account for a mutually beneficial outcome.
The DOS will be responsible for travel not only within the assigned territory, but also to respective trade events, the home office and industry conferences.
The DOS is also responsible for completing daily and weekly reports on activity with accounts as well as home office reporting. The DOS will have access to their accounts and AIG Travel systems to keep abreast of sales, claims, loss ratios and other critical financial data on the accounts.
Qualified candidates will have the following:
5-10 years of sales experience and industry experience
Must have solid working knowledge of the travel industry as well as solid experience in sales and sales process
Must have existing industry contacts and be able to travel up to 60%
Advanced level territory management skills
Advanced level Travel industry knowledge and working knowledge of property management
Advanced knowledge of sales processes
