Position Overview:
The Senior Commercial Mortgage Loan Boarding Specialist is responsible for timely and accurately boarding all legal, financial and business terms of newly funded and modified commercial and agricultural mortgage loans to the commercial mortgage loan servicing system.
Responsibilities:
• Review and interpret commercial, multi-family, agricultural, and other loan documents to identify loan boarding requirements;
• Ensure accurate and timely boarding of key loan terms in the commercial mortgage loan servicing system;
• Complete verification processes of new loans boarded onto the servicing system within the required timeframe;
• Accurately enter appropriate financial terms of the loan documents, including loan amount, term, interest, amortization, escrow, reserve account and other financial data;
• Accurately identify and enter servicing action items included in loan documents and build appropriate notifications in the servicing system to allow servicing staff to monitor loan requirements;
• Complete and oversee quality assurance for boarded data to identify and correct errors to ensure accurate data;
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure quality of data, loan documents and other information provided to loan boarding team to maintain the system of record;
• Identify, participate and contribute ideas for success in relation to assigned work, projects or other process enhancements;
• Understand the flow of information, financial systems, appropriate reporting tools and uses that knowledge to troubleshoot problems;
• Adhere to the company's framework of internal controls;
• Assist in documenting business processes, identifying controls and deficiencies in business processes, testing of identified controls, and mapping of business processes;
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business/finance or equivalent work experience.
• Eight years of commercial mortgage loan servicing experience.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial loan servicing and commercial mortgage loan documentation.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and loan management/documentation systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with loan servicing / loan management systems
• Strong analytical skills, making sound business decisions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Detail oriented with strong organization skills
• Experience managing multiple, concurrent projects
