The VP of Business Development is responsible for sourcing, closing and incubating new business within Jackson Hewitt. The person will help define the business development function and accelerate growth in an entrepreneurial environment with frequent exposure and access to executive leadership.

Responsibilities:
• Lead all phases of business development from translating corporate strategy into action, sourcing new business opportunities, negotiating and closing deals
• Incubate, operationalize and run new businesses until they are sustainable
• Build out the Business Development function and recruit a team
• Drive cross functional coordination and support for new business development initiatives
• Regularly update executive leadership around business development efforts
Education/Experience:
• 10+ years of relevant experience; experience with consumer financial services a plus
Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus
• Superior critical thinking skills, ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Excellent business development tool kit, including be able to translate strategy into action, source new business opportunities, negotiate and close deals and incubate and manage new businesses
• Enthusiastic about operating in a fast-paced, unstructured environment and being self-directed
• Strong communication skills, particularly in translating complex issues into actionable items
• Deep intellectual curiosity and strong drive to challenge the status quo
