Retail Wealth Management – AVP, Product Development
Profile Summary
Responsible for directing and influencing the strategic planning and direction of the investment product platform for Retail Wealth Management.
• Profile Description
• Influential in defining the wealth management strategy and service offering to deliver products in support of a self-directed and advisor led planning experience.
• Drive change across culture as firm migrates from a transactional to relationship based wealth management offering based on financial planning.
• Development of new retail products in partnership with internal and external Mutual Fund and annuity firms
• Responsible for the search, investment review and pricing engagement of Separate Managed Accounts and Investment Strategists to support growth and implementation on our proprietary advisory platform
• Partner closely with Voya Investment Management on campaigns and annual initiatives to drive new fund flows for proprietary fund partners
• Oversee the due diligence process for all investment products to ensure compliance with broker dealer and external regulators
• Management of existing product shelf
• Product development & management of MF packaged products and MF only managed accounts where fund line up is determined by Voya resources; including Investment Selection Committee governance of these products
• Production of Mutual Fund Research Select List
• Deep understanding across all investment asset classes: mutual funds, ETFs, managed accounts, variable and fixed insurance, Alts and REITS
• Maintain and develop competitive analysis of products and pricing versus other major IBD firms
• Work closely with third party Strategic Partnership team to ensure congruency between Product and internal programs
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• 10+ years Retirement insurance product or mutual fund based product management experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, MBA preferred
• FINRA Series 6 and 26 license required; or the ability to earn series 6 and 26 licenses within 6 months of hire required
• Broad knowledge of overall industry products and services
• Detailed knowledge of retirement product competitive landscape, mutual fund offerings and investment strategies for Retirement retail products
• Highly motivated and creative problem solver
• Strong leadership skills - ability to motivate and lead a cross-functional team where some members will not have a direct reporting relationship
• Ability to effectively prioritize competing demands, and to partner effectively with Sales and Relationship management teams
• Ability to communicate complex issues in a clear way to peers and senior executives
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Travel – 10-20%LI-JS1
