Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of accounts throughout the Chapter 7, 11, 12, and 13 bankruptcy processes while adhering to federal, state and district guidelines to minimize risk and loss to the company. Specifically, this position will be responsible for working closely with third party vendor to clear issues/tasks hindering the associated bankruptcy process.
Essential Functions/Specific Duties:
• Review and research requests submitted by vendor to clear roadblocks and impediments to move forward on a BK process (POC/MFR/PCN/NOFC/etc).
• Manage bankruptcy processes as related to collateral files/documents, assignments of mortgages, grant deeds, MERS, loan affidavits, etc.
• Review and reconciliate fees and costs associated with the Proof of Claim and Post-Petition Fee Notice.
• Process all bankruptcy accounts in accordance with policies, procedures and processes in place
• Maintain working relationships with outside counsel and/or third party vendors to file necessary court documents to protect company assets
• Review and interpret loan payment histories and identify discrepancies in payment postings and request account adjustments to rectify errors
• Prepare and audit payoffs for the bankruptcy department
• Milestone follow up
• Manage constant email flow
• Manage assigned portfolio by following current investor guidelines
• Handle inbound calls from customers, problem solve and resolve inquiries efficiently
• Maintain data integrity within system of record and any other systems used by Ditech
• Ensure compliance with loan regulations and bankruptcy guidelines
• Ability to read, understand, and analyze loan and bankruptcy information to determine appropriate actions
• Assist with special projects
• Any other job responsibilities requested by management.
Qualifications/Job Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
1+ years of Bankruptcy experience preferred
1+ years of audit review experience, preferred,
2+ years of financial servicing experience, preferably mortgage servicing;
Skills:
Good numeric aptitude and analytical skills
Knowledge of MSP/Loansphere very helpful
Effective written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft products
Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the bankruptcy and loan servicing fields
Competencies:
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively to maintain or increase productivity and adhere to strict compliance.
Detail oriented and organized.
Self-starter; able to work in fast-paced, deadline oriented environment
Ability to adapt quickly in an ever-changing environment
Conditions of Work:
Mandatory overtime as needed to meet business needs
