The Commercial Real Estate Loan Administrator is primarily responsible for managing and ensuring the accuracy of closing of commercial and residential developer real estate loan transactions for construction/permanent/bridge type products through the loan origination, approval, funding and closing processes. Additional responsibilities include the management and reporting of loans assigned to portfolio, obtain and review third party reports, title/escrow assembling, data entry in the appropriate tracking systems for loan closing, ensuring final loan approval terms are accurately incorporated within final loan documentation. Loan Administrator must possess a strong ability to work independently with legal counsel as well as in a team-oriented environment to ensure proper review and collateralization of loan documents in accordance with departmental and bank policy and procedures. Loan Administrator is responsible for maintaining an acceptable level of 20% or less variance in the Exception Reporting Process.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Reviews signed Term Sheet; Inputs and updates Pipeline. Processes all deposits/fees received. Orders and processes all 3rd party requests/information. Reviews all incoming due diligence items (consult with Loan Officer). Reviews Commitment Request and Counsel prepared loan documentation and ensures loan approval terms are incorporated (consult with Counsel/Loan Officer). Performs appropriate compliance actions/procedures. Works with all appropriate parties to finalize loan documents. Submits final closing files in appropriate checklist stacking order to Credit Services for processing.
2. Creates and manages tickler items for loans assigned to portfolio. Reviews and manages a loan portfolio including the analysis of operating performance and reporting of risks on a regular basis as required by loan documentation. Reviews and approves construction draw packages. Analyzes corporate and individual financial statements/tax returns as required by loan documentation. Prepares and maintains CRE reports on regular basis as required by bank. Performs appropriate compliance actions/procedures for loans in portfolio. Prepares loan documents to renew homebuilders with Master Deeds of Trust and review file to ensure bank policies and procedures are followed.
3. Completes all bank required training. Complete special projects as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
• PC skills and knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Thorough working knowledge of current real estate laws (multistate experience a plus) related to zoning, title, escrow regulations, and laws related to borrowing structural entities (i.e. limited partnerships, corporations, limited liability companies, etc.)
• Thorough knowledge of commercial real estate documentation and residential development loan documentation
• Superior analytical and decision making skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting plus 5 years of related work experience; Or 10+ years of equivalent work experience.
