SUMMARY:
The Fee Income Product Manager is responsible for fee income and product research, analysis, development, and implementation of products, services, programs, and offerings within Community Banking. This manager will assist the Sales, Service & Product groups to review existing offerings, modify them as needed as a result of business goals and competitive pressures and develop new initiatives based on business line needs and market research on customers, competitors and trends according to established policies and procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines. This includes the strategy and growth of United’s overdraft program, including working with Compliance to help ensure the product and sales process is technically compliant and that potential UDAAP risk is appropriately managed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years’ banking or related experience required
• Experience in developing and launching fee-based consumer and business products, including documentation and system support requirements
• Thorough and progressive knowledge of compliance, banking rules, and policies in a changing business environment, especially those in relation to overdraft management
• Revenue management skills: financial modeling, management reporting, month-end close, profitability and forecasting & budgeting
• Proven project management skills; with aptitude to work with various internal business lines and external vendors
• Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize delivery based on key objectives; structured approach to achieve tight timelines on deliverables
• Ability to apply comprehensive problem-solving abilities for complex issues
• Experience with SQL Server and Cognos is preferred
• Advanced skills in managing and cultivating vendor relationships
• Excellent written and verbal skills required, including strong business management presentation skills
• Self-starter; strong interpersonal skills and excellent team player
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required
• Participate in all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Work with various business lines and support areas to enhance existing community banking products, services, programs, and market offers based on business strategy, industry experience, market analysis, customer analysis/needs identification
• Prepares product strategies, specifications, profitability analyses and revenue projections, coordinating with finance and other areas as necessary
• Oversee multiple fee-based products offered within Community Banking, including United’s overdraft management solutions. This includes assisting with managing vendor relationships. This includes responsibility for:
◦ Ensuring compliant operation of product, including strict adherence with product policies and guidelines to ensure all legal, compliance and audit standards are met;
◦ Product design, including fee levels;
◦ Product marketing, including sales delivery and related training; and
◦ Product monitoring, including sufficient reporting to monitor sales and risk.
• Analyze competitive landscape, industry trends and market demand as it relates to fee-based consumer and business products and services
• Understand and drive research and reporting needs related to fee income based products and services. Assist in creating and preparing monthly, quarterly and annual fee income reviews to highlight performance and recommendations.
• Coordinates with training and others to educate internal personnel about new products, services, programs and offers to ensure effective introduction of new initiatives
• Develop oversight and performance management metrics to efficiently manage / track successful implementation of fee-based product development projects
• Maintain oversight of disclosure and change in terms communication strategies and execution relating to product and policy changes
